3 Thanksgiving Getaways For the Whole Family

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to take a trip with the whole family because it’s the season when you want to spend time with your family. You want to find a good location that helps you bond together while providing some fun and new experiences to enjoy together. Here are several options.

Zion National Park

The US national park is one of the most visited national parks in America, and it’s for good reason. Zion National Park provides stunning views, incredible hikes, and an amazing vacation.

For the adrenaline junkie, you can go on off-roading tours, skydiving, four-wheeler tours, and much more. You can go on various horseback riding tours, eat at the restaurants with delicious restaurants, and wildlife of all kinds.

If the outdoors isn’t really your thing, nearby, you can also find many sites where popular movies, such as Indiana Jones and Forest Gump, were filmed in Southern Utah.

There are amazing spas, yoga studios, pools, hot springs, and other relaxing destinations if you’re looking to chill out. The area offers so many options for family members with different interests and is a fairly affordable option to take before the holidays.

Cruise

One of the best things about a cruise is that, for the most part, it’s all expenses included. You don’t have to worry about booking hotels, you don’t have to plan out where to eat, and you get a daily agenda that you don’t have to even think about.

You can book with a Visa Platinum Card to get even more travel points. If you plan your trip right, you can avoid spending a dime during your cruise. Research which cruise line and destination would be the right fit for your family. Some lines offer tons of fun activities like ice skating, movies, basketball courts, waterslides, and more.

Nearly every cruise also offers activities that will interest adults such as game rooms, casinos, late-night comedy shows, and many relaxing spots to lay and read a book. A cruise is one of the most relaxing vacations for the family because there is something for everyone, and many cruise directors have seasonal decor and actitvities to make everyone onboard feel at home.

Head to the Beach

Whether it’s a Caribbean island, Hawaii, or a beach nearby, you can never go wrong with a beach vacation in November, right? The beach is great because you don’t have to spend a lot once you get there to have a good time. You can rent a boat or jet skis or try surfing, but it’s also nice to just chill in the sand with a good back and get a nice tan.

Most beach towns also have some great food and entertainment venues because of the constant flow of tourists, so you can be fully entertained the whole trip.

Whatever option you choose, make sure that you budget right for your getaway. Jade Beckman, vice president of consumer loans at Mountain America Credit Union, advises that “On larger expenses, such as family vacations and excursions, I recommend that you carefully plan how you are going to use your credit card; use it for things that you are already planning on purchasing, such as food or gas. When used correctly, it can be a very reliable resource.”

Thanksgiving is a nice time to go on a trip with the family because there’s not as much pressure or expectations as around Christmas/holiday season. These three options would be a great trip for any family.
